Whether you’re looking for jewelry that’s classic with a twist or something that may cause onlookers to do a double-take, Minneapolis-Saint Paul is rich with talented local designers who create one-of-a-kind works of wearable art. Find some of these creations – from delicate threaded bead or sequined necklaces, to sterling silver and semiprecious stone pieces at Quince (850 Grand Avenue, Saint Paul, 651-225-9900). (While you’re there you can sniff out another local gem, Zack and Zo‘, a line of natural lotions, scrubs, and more.) Local Charm, in the Mall of America, features a collection of original sterling silver and gemstone jewelry by local, as well as national and international, artisans.
The classic with a twist can be found at Epitome (3395 Galleria, Edina, 952-920-2978), which carries Oie jewelry, made with precious metal, freshwater pearls, and semiprecious stones.
And Macy’s stores feature a line of jewelry created by local television anchor Robyne Robinson. The chunky designs made of semiprecious stones such as amber, carnelian and jade appropriately bear the name Rox Minneapolis (700 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, 612-375-2200).
